Spend a few minutes in the spa with New York Times best-selling author David Finch. In this wickedly funny and deeply insightful personal narrative, Finch casts a gimlet eye upon the business of personal care for women and men—and finds that one sex does it much, much better.
(Author’s note This is an essay. It’s short. And there's some adult language. Just saying.)
Praise for SPLITTING HAIRS
“David Finch's essay about his first spa experience is not only really funny, but managed to make me feel manly. I can't believe he wimped out of the eyebrow wax.” — Joel Stein, author of Man Made A Stupid Quest for Masculinity, and Time magazine’s “The Awesome Column”
“David Finch is hilarious.” — Michael Palascak, comedian

I have loved David Finch ever since hearing him on NPR. I think anyone will enjoy any of his writings but even more so if you work with/live with/know anyone on the spectrum. His writing is so endearing, full of self-deprecating humor, but also a gentle mirror that causes us to sometimes ask ourselves, "why DO we assume these things?". If you like this article, go have more fun with his book "Journal of Best Practices".Product details

Splitting Hairs An Essay edition by David Finch Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews
David has a way of looking at the everyday and seeing past what's obvious to the humor and the innately human parts of life.
I love this essay (took about 15 minutes to read at most). David Finch is hilarious and insightful. I love the way he sees the world- accurate an quirky all at once. Also recommend his Journal of Best Practices and eagerly await anything new he delivers )
I read a previous book by the Author. This one was less on the informative side, and more entertaining.
As a man who has been to a spa and a Sport Clips, this hit home and it was funny as hell. A great, short read filled with entertaining comparisons and astute observations. Can't what to see what the author comes up with next!
As a big fan of his book, The Journal Of Best Practices, I knew I'd pounce on the next thing David Finch released. This was a great read and I'm looking forward to more. I recommend!
Once you have entered the thought stream of David Finch you never know where he might take you. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. Then run to your favorite beauty shop or barber and be glad that David has allowed you along on his adventure and saved you from the temptation doing it yourself. Personally, I'm going to stick with the shop with a rotating barber pole out front. Thanks, David.
I really enjoyed David Finch's, "Splitting Hairs." Getting to witness the running commentary coursing through his brain during a trip to the spa was hilarious! His writing is so twisted and unpredictable, it brings the reader to conclusions they'll never see coming. I love a twisted sense of humor, don't you? This essay had me snorting and giggling throughout. Pick it up; it'll put a smile on your face.
